This verse from the bible screamed at me today. I just had to do something with it. We live among a generation void of the word of God and in such a crisis of identity. Self control is never heard of... and yet, the Lord still urges us to turn to Him, humble our hearts, repent of our wickedness, take on His yoke, and learn from Him. I hope this ministers to you as it did to me.
I am deeply humbled everyday by the simple fact that as human beings we are subject to temptation, on a daily basis, and we must always be on our guard against all manner of evil. There is no escape from this other than Christ Jesus.
... further more, I admit I have fallen short of this so many times it ain't even funny... more times than I'm willing to discuss, which really disgusts me. My prayer goes out for our society, especially the generations that are coming forth. They have no idea concerning the temptations that await them. May the Lord be their strength...
